Overview: As a Security Staff member with SIA (Security Industry Authority) accreditation, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and premises. Your primary responsibility will be to protect property, assets, and personnel by enforcing security protocols and procedures in compliance with SIA regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Access Control:

  • Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring that only authorized personnel and visitors enter designated areas.
  • Verify the identity of individuals, check credentials, and issue visitor badges as necessary.

Surveillance and Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to detect and deter suspicious activity, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
  • Utilize surveillance equipment, such as CCTV cameras, to monitor activity and respond to security breaches promptly.

Security Screening:

  • Conduct security screenings of individuals, bags, and packages entering the premises to prevent the introduction of prohibited items or weapons.
  • Implement security procedures for screening personnel, including bag checks, metal detector scans, and pat-down searches, as required.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms, including medical emergencies, fires, or intrusions.
  • Take appropriate action to de-escalate conflicts, manage crowd control, and evacuate premises if necessary.

Report Writing and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, including descriptions of events, individuals involved, and outcomes, for review by management and law enforcement, if necessary.

Customer Service and Conflict Resolution:

  • Provide friendly, professional, and customer-focused service to clients, visitors, and personnel while enforcing security policies and procedures.
  • Resolve conflicts, complaints, or disputes in a diplomatic and assertive manner, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor at all times.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other security staff, team members, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate security operations and address security concerns effectively.
  • Communicate security-related information, instructions, and updates to colleagues, clients, and emergency responders as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor license/accreditation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Familiarity with security equipment, procedures, and regulations.
